How do I consistently get to the top of the search engines? Question submitted at the World Internet Summit.
Plugging in to events is a great way to broaden your horizons! I've been at the World Internet Summit for the past four days and learned new answers to the above question. Beyond the obvious answers: optimization (a strategy that employs adding relevant, useful content, naming and tagging and cultivating strong in-bound links) and PPC ("pay-per-click" or paying for traffic based mostly on keyword searches) - I've learned a new twist - POWER PRESS RELEASES.
One little-known but powerful way to be found on search engines is to target news services - like Yahoo News and Google News, which get 30 million and 10 million visitors, respectively. Writing effective releases and articles is a strategy which, with the right flare and finability, can catapult you to the top of the NEWS search engines for terms as broad as "book". Imagine how much traffic and CREDIBILITY you can gain with visibility at this level!
At the World Internet Summit conference, I met a PR industry guru, winner of multiple CLEOs, and helluva model American - Marc Harty. Marc has worked with big names as well as entrepreneurs and has developed a web PR Home Study Course called "PR Traffic". With the comprehensive course, he teaches people a 7-step process for writing and submitting press releases to get traffic. I don't mean to sound too much like an infomercial, but I wholeheartedly believe in passing along valuable tools that will help you build your business. His definitely falls into that category.
Go to his website, www.PRtraffic.com , and see what he has to offer. I think you will find it another great weapon in your arsenal in accomplishing huge success on the Internet.
